One of the greatest compliments that we can receive is when a couple refers others to us. Of these referrals the greatest is when they refer us to a best friend or a family member! We shot Hayley’s sister Shelby almost two years ago and this year we had the amazing pleasure of working with the family again for Hayley and Jared’s wedding.

It’s funny we were at a bridal show recently and we were talking about couples that we have worked with. Someone mentioned the number of couples their studio shoots in a year and it was in the hundreds. With that many weddings being shot by a number of photographers how can a relationship be built with the couple. I don’t think it can. They don’t know and won’t remember all the names of the families they work with. They don’t know the inside jokes or when Shelby or Justin will say ‘gross’. We do, and Desiree especially does, so when Hayley’s folks come out to do pictures, we know that Michael, Hayley’s dad, really has a soft tenderness under that big rough cowboy exterior and that Melissa, is so proud of the girls she loves that it won’t take much to make her eyes water the thought of them.

When we were asked to photograph Hayley and Jared, we were so excited to work with the family again. We didn’t feel like we were working, we were there with friends being a part of a wedding and we just happened to be photographing it as well.

Hayley was so beautiful, and the ceremony, equally so. It was preformed by her father. Shelby and Justin stood by on each of their respective sides as the only attendants. It was a perfect family event. Though there are no other weddings in the family’s future we hope to be a part of the photographic future of this beautiful family in any capacity we can!

And I think I got this whole blog typed without a reference that would invoke a “Gross!”
