Our Mothers part 4

I saw a bumper sticker today that said anyone can be a father but it takes a special man to be a daddy!

I thought about that and, though I agree to an extent, I would change that to anyone can father a child but it takes a real man to be a daddy. Then I thought about moms and mothers. I think of the difference between mommies and mothers. To me a mommy is the one to kiss our ouwies when we get hurt. A mommy is the one who hangs our picture up on the fridge with a big smile on her face.  A mommy, sings us songs at night, takes us out for ice cream, plays soccer in the yard, jumps on the trampoline, flies kites, takes us for rides, gives us hugs and kisses, plays house with us, paints tiny toenails, cuts crust off of bread, makes hot chocolate…should I go on?…I could for hours… A mother is a little different, a mother endures 9 months of the all that comes with growing a baby, a mother stays up through the night with a newborn baby, a mother drives us to the emergency room after we break a bone, gets up every morning to make breakfast and school lunch, works a full time job and still has time to take us to baseball practice and cook dinner and clean up after dinner, a mother buys school clothes, patches holes in knees, changes diapers, forces medicine into us when we refuse to take it because we are so sick, a mother cries at night when she worries about her future of her kids, a mother cooks, cleans, washes, dries, folds, dusts, gets stains out, gets, groceries and gas, sets up play dates, takes us to camp, makes sure we have water and toilet paper when we go camping. And a mother makes sure all of our ties are straight and we all have belts on before church sunday morning. A mother kneels down with us at night in prayer. A mother teaches us how to love and show charity.

Almost anyone can be a mommy, but it takes a real woman to be a mother.

To the mothers in our lives we love you all and thank you for making the world a better place to be.

To celebrate the strength, and enduring love that our mothers have for us, give them a break from the day to day with a photo session for moms; a Mother and Me session, a Connection session with mom and dad, a family lifestyle session, a newborn baby session with mommy.  This mother’s day do something different, give your mom a  gift certificate for a photo session with Desiree and Seth.  As a special Mothers Day gift with the purchase of the gift certificate for a session, mom gets a 4×8 fold out mini-book. (perfect to keep in mom’s purse and show friends and family.)

If you yourself are a mom, you can easily forward this on to your husband, kids, friends, cousin in Alaska, you know, whoever!!! (sometimes we husbands, sons,  and dads need little hints from our wonderful wives, parents, and kids!) It’s even a great gift to give a close friend for Mother’s Day!
